I am currently undertaking a practice-based PhD at Arts University Bournemouth. My research explores how textile knowledge is learned, shared and transformed through making.
Working across drawing, stitch, I investigate the relationship between making, learning and embodied knowledge, with a particular interest in textile traditions and cross-cultural transfer. I explore what can only be understood through making – and what happens to knowledge as it is learned, practised, translated and shared.
Alongside my research, I continue to teach, exhibit and develop creative projects that celebrate the rich histories and contemporary relevance of textiles.
